Below are answers to general academic advising questions as well as resources for students seeking academic advising information.

1. Can I make an appointment online with my academic adviser?

You can make an appointment with certain academic advisers via the web. Currently, you can make an online appointment with:

  • Stuart Brown
  • Meghan Hamilton
  • Christine Johnson
  • Judy Meyer
  • Christine Mosman
  • Kelly Nemeth
  • Kimberli Treadwell

To make an appointment with one of these individuals, click here. Other advisers will be added to this list during the course of the semester.

2. How do I find out my adviser at the Waterbury Campus?

Your adviser's name is within your PeopleSoft account. To access this information, follow these steps:

  • Go to http://www.studentadmin.uconn.edu
  • Enter your PeopleSoft Login ID and Password
  • Once the page loads, click on SA Self Service
  • Then click on Learner Services
  • Then click on Academics
  • Finally, click on View My Advisor [PLEASE NOTE: All adviser assignments will be entered into PeopleSoft by Monday, Sept. 27th]

2. How do I determine my enrollment appointment date and time so I know when I can start registering?

Your appointment time is within your PeopleSoft account. To access this information, follow these steps:

  • Go to http://www.studentadmin.uconn.edu
  • Enter your PeopleSoft Login ID and Password
  • Once the page loads, click on SA Self Service
  • Then click on Learner Services
  • Then click on Academics
  • Finally, click on View Enrollment Appointment

3. Where can I find information about General Education requirements?

[PLEASE NOTE: Always cross-reference the General Education requirements with what your specific school and college states you should take.

For the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences you can print out General Education Audit Sheets to help you keep a record of which General Education courses you have taken.

4. Is there a way I can find out the requirements for majors at the University?

A web page has been developed which links to the academic requirements for most majors at the University. To access that page, click here.

5. I am planning to take courses at Connecticut community colleges or other colleges and universities. Can I find out if they will transfer to UConn?

The University of Connecticut Office of Transfer Admissions has put together a user-friendly web page of course equivalencies. To link to that page, click here.

6. I have a real easy advising question. Is there any way I can have someone give me a quick response?

You can "Ask Kelly" -- our cyberadviser. Kelly will answer your question within 24 hours (not including weekends). To pose your question, click here.
