Veterans Services Home Page, State of Connecticut, Department of Labor: - this site has a great amount of information pertaining to Veterans and Military Members. The main part of the page is separated into 3 columns. The left column is Federal Services to Veterans, the middle column is State Services to Veterans, and the right column is various "Local" Services to Veterans.

Army Career and Alumni Program: - this part of the ACAP site lists job fairs for separating (or recently separated) military personnel.

Air Force Crossroads: - although this site focuses on relocation services for active duty military, it also has a great deal of information for veterans at the "employment" hyperlink.

Career Transition Site for Military Personnel: - comprehensive transition assistance site for separating military members.

Troops to Cops: - a program designed to assist and expedite separating military members in their pursuit to become law enforcement officers.

Human Resources Opportunities within the Department of the Army: - federal civilian positions within the Department of the Army nationwide.

Troops to Teachers: - provides information to assist separating military members who wish to become teachers in public school systems.

State of Connecticut Personnel Office at the Department of Administrative Services: - this site contains State of Connecticut job openings, and to certain qualified veterans, the State of Connecticut gives hiring preference to military veterans.

US Navy's DD Form 2586 website: - the Navy DD Form 2586 is the Verification of Military Education and Training (VMET), and is helpful in preparing resumes and for use in interviews. It breaks down military experience into the skills necessary to perform the duties of the military occupation.

The Department of Defense's TransPortal: - designed specifically to assist service members leaving active duty, this site provides info on Transition Assistance (with contact phone numbers) and "Your Next Career" (Getting Ready, Tips on Using the Internet, and more).

E-Vets Resource Advisor: - includes information on a broad range of topics such as job search tools and tips, employment openings, career assessment, education & training, benefits, and special services available to Veterans.

Department of Labor, Veterans Employment & Training: - this site hosts the ATB-VETS Resume Writer, an electronic resume system designed especially for transitioning veterans. Along with the Military Resume Writer, there is good information about Veterans Preference, and Veterans Re-employment Rights, and other veterans issues.

Department of Labor, Employment and Training: - this is a good site to research what is happening in the government's world of employment & training services, and has a host of employment & training links. To access the links, go to the bottom of the home page, and click on "ETA Affiliated Sites".

Transition Assistance Online: - includes an online resume bank. You can post your resume on the Internet, find Job Leads listed from military-friendly employers, get information about franchising & starting your own business, and obtain advice & guidance. Plus, access links to other internet employment sites with federal jobs as well as state & local government opportunities.

Veterans Corporation for Veterans Entrepreneurs: - gives assistance and resources to Veterans and transitioning military personnel interested in starting their own business.

Vet Jobs: - a commercial job search site for Veterans.
