Students can explore their interests, values with all phases of the career development process, from helping to clarify values, interests and personality preferences to identifying a satisfying career path. Regardless of how confused students may feel about majors and careers, the office can help with making informed decisions through hour-long one-on-one career counseling appointments, researching careers, securing internships, and employer networking. In addition, students can receive assistance with resumes, interviewing and the job search.
- Career Checklists -- A roadmap for each year of your four years at UConn.

- Exploring majors --
Students can obtain a "Choices" workbook, complete the exercises and make an appointment with Career Services and get assistance with career decision-making. - Securing Internships --
At UConn Waterbury, we encourage students to get involved in our local community and gain hands-on practical experience in the real world. Internships are work experiences that may be related to academic credit or done independently. Students can intern during the semester while carrying a full academic course load or full-time in the summer. Internships are an excellent way to help students confirm their career path or choice of major, and often can lead to permanent employment upon graduation. Cooperative Education or "co-op" differs from internships in that they are full-time paid work experiences usually lasting six months. Students can download an Informational Interviewing Questionnaire. Students can also go to http://www.career.uconn.edu and click on HuskyCareerLink in the left margin to access a Web-based system to access VAULT, an industry and career research tool.

- Study Abroad --
The Waterbury Office of Career Services is the liaison with the Office of Study Abroad. UConn Study abroad offers a wide array of options world-wide for most majors. With wise planning students can fulfill general elective requirements overseas while experiencing living in a different culture. There are programs open to all students, freshmen through seniors, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. In a typical semester, a student can earn 12-18 credits. All federal financial aid travels with a student when they study abroad, and there are scholarship opportunities offered by the Office of Study Abroad. Visit http://www.studyabroad.uconn.edu.
