Alan Stein earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences (New York University) in 1973. He teaches mathematics and statistics courses.
Dr. Stein specializes in number theory and has published research papers in number theory and combinatorics. He currently serves as chair of the Satellite Campus Computing Special Interest Group and is a member of the University Computing Committee.
Professor Stein has been involved in many community activities, including a two year stint as president of the Jewish Federation of Waterbury.
