| Changing Your NetID Password |
Download and install the University's security certificate to assure secure communications between the NetID systems and your desktop. This can be found by clicking here: http://security.uconn.edu/ssl/. Establish an initial NetID password by entering your date of birth, student ID number and student administration account (EmplID). Click here: https://netid.uconn.edu/resetpassword.php. Please note this is a secured, private transaction using the encryption you established. (Note:
SETTING YOUR NETID PASSWORD IS STILL REQUIRED EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY
ESTABLISHED A MAINFRAME OR CMS ACCOUNT.) It is highly recommended that you change your password often and you choose a password that is familiar and easy for you to remember, yet something others would not guess or associate directly with you. If you have a password you are currently using at home (with AOL, HotMail) you can reuse it here for added comfort.
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by following a similar procedure as stated above. |

| WebMail Login Instructions |
UConn provides students with web-based e-mail, currently through the service known as Husky WebMail. If you do not have an established e-mail provider (Yahoo, Hotmail) you can use this service over the summer to stay in touch with UConn, read your e-mail messages.
To log in to UConn's HuskyMail system click here. Enter your new NetID and password to login. Your new e-mail address will be firstname.lastname@HuskyMail.uconn.edu; it appears in the top of your e-mail web page after log in. Please note that your old firstname.lastname@uconn.edu account remains active and is separate from HuskyMail at this point.
To complete the conversion, log in to the NetID system via the http://netid.uconn.edu page to verify your personal information. Once logged in, you will be able to forward stored and new e-mail arriving from your mainframe account permanently into HuskyMail. You will also be able to synchronize your NetID password with your mainframe CMS password if you intend to continue to use the mainframe for any purpose. This step will permanently set your firstname.lastname@uconn.edu mail address to forward to firstname.lastname@HuskyMail.uconn.edu. |
